St. Francis often conducts collections of items needed by various organizations we support.
Below you will find information on the current opportunity to help others in need.
Drive for the Homeless and Impoverished
Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington was founded by St. Francis and 11 other Episcopal Churches in 1986 to work with people suffering from homelessness and poverty and help them put their lives on track through an innovative Next-Step program. As part of our ongoing support for Samaritan Ministry's outstanding work, St. Francis is holding a drive to collect essential items for the homeless and impoverished participants in its programs.
There are several ways that you can participate.
1. Order items from the list below and have the items sent directly to Samaritan Ministry, 1516 Hamilton Street NW, Washington, DC 20011. MAKE SURE TO SPECIFY NO DELIVERY ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY If you shop at Smile.Amazon.com and designate St. Francis Great Falls as your charity of choice, Amazon will donate 0.5% of eligible purchases to St. Francis!
2. Take your donations to the address above Monday through Friday. Call (202) 722-2280 before you leave to let them know you are coming.
3. Send a check to St. Francis, and be sure to write Homeless Drive on the memo line.
4. Click on PayPal-Donate Now to donate electronically. Select Outreach Drive from the Optional drop-down list.
All donations made with a check or through PayPal will be used to purchase items on the list. For questions, please contact Ginger Roll at firstname.lastname@example.org The drive will end on Sunday, September 27.
