The St. Francis Endowment Fund

"For where your treasure is, there is your heart also." -- Luke 12:34

The St. Francis Endowment Fund supports an endowment fund that will sustain the future of our church through bequests to St. Francis. The fund also provides an opportunity for families and friends to remember loved ones through special memorial gifts.

Our Endowment Fund is vital to ensuring that St. Francis continues to thrive, offering a diverse array of ministries. As our church has grown, we have embraced a commitment to provide meaningful programs for worship and fellowship, outreach that extends both locally and globally, and spiritual education for all ages. The growth of our endowment through legacy stewardship, or planned giving, is important to realizing this vision on a long-term basis.

If you would like to become part of the St. Francis Endowment Fund, consider a gift to the Fund, such as a special donation or:

    • A bequest in a will
    • A life income gift…such as a pooled income fund, a charitable gift annuity, or a charitable remainder trust
    • Gifts of special assets…such as real estate, closely held stock, or life insurance

The St. Francis Endowment Committee

Established in 1998, the St. Francis Endowment Committee manages the Endowment Fund and assists the congregation with understanding the importance of long-range planning. We also encourage parishioners to remember the church through bequests and special gifts.

The Endowment Committee has a three-fold mission:

    • To support parish programs, properties, and outreach ministries
    • To ensure that bequests and other gifts are used in a manner that is consistent with donor designations and stipulations
    • To preserve and, over the long term, grow the value of the endowment principal

More details on the mission and policies related the Endowment Committee are available here:Endowment Fund Founding Documentsand Endowment Fund Q & A.

The committee's services include providing support to families and individuals as they engage in end-of-life planning and arrangements for charitable giving. Toward that end, the committee recently publishedPlanning for Life, a booklet for parishioners that aids in organizing and preparing information and documents for purposes of estate planning. The booklet, which is also available in print in the church office, reviews such considerations as wills, Advance Medical Directives, Powers of Attorney, and long-term care, etc.

Episcopal Church Foundation

"Give and it will be given to you." -- Luke 6:38

The St. Francis Endowment Committee has developed a working relationship with theEpiscopal Church Foundation, an independent not-for-profit organization. Established more than 50 years ago, the foundation assists parishes, dioceses, and affiliated Episcopal entities in their efforts to encourage church giving. Through the ample resources of the foundation, as well as the efforts of our own Endowment Committee members and other parishioners, we are able to provide many documents and guidelines for planned giving. Some of these resources appear in the sidebar to the right of this page, or contact the Endowment Committee for more information.  SFEC and ECF Relationship
