What are the FORUMs for?

The FORUMs serve a number of functions for St. Francis and Franciscans: communication, education, and fellowship are at least some of the reasons that we have the forums. This week we will have fellowship and over the next two weeks, November 3 and 10 we will have a presentation about visions of church life in the Episcopal Church in 2019 and the third of Kathy Anderson's practical guides to the Labyrinth. The November 3 FORUM will take place at 9:00 AM only and the November 10 FORUM will take place after the 10:00 AM service only. As we move forward during 2019 and 2020, the writer encourages the reader to take note of what is coming up. FORUMs are one of our primary ways to engage the congregation about upcoming events, programs, and dialogue.

Recent FORUMs have been sparsely attended and besides being a disappointment for the presenters, it means that important information may not be getting to parishioners. That is a concern of leadership, especially when parishioners later say they were not told something.

From an education perspective, it the responsibility of the Rector to ensure the ongoing education of all parishioners in the Bible and in the theology of the Episcopal Church. It is the goal of the church to make these offerings interesting and assessable, so if your needs are not being met, please speak with the Rector and Associate Rector.

Finally, be on the lookout at 9:00 AM for FORUMs that create fellowship, inform, and communicate.
